Last updated: 15 September 2026. A serious executive health screening in the US runs $2,000–$10,000 with weeks of scheduling. China's top hospitals run comprehensive same-week programs — imaging, labs, tumor markers, cardiac and GI screening, and a physician review in English — at $400–$2,500 all-in. Many international visitors combine the checkup with a visa-free trip to the Hainan Boao Lecheng Pilot Zone or a city break in Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou.

What this guide covers: the published 2026 all-in cost bands by tier, exactly what is included in a package versus billed separately, who a checkup is for and who it is not for, the hospitals in our network that take international patients, how escrow protects a screening booking, the step-by-step process, and the questions international visitors ask most.

1. What an executive checkup costs in China vs the US

Typical all-in package ranges from partner hospitals, 2025–2026. Packages differ by depth; the quote itemizes every scan and lab. Last verified: September 2026.

PackageTypical US priceChina all-inSavings vs US
Essential (labs, ultrasound, ECG, physician review)$2,000–$4,000$400–$80080%
Comprehensive (+ MRI/CT, tumor markers)$4,000–$7,000$800–$1,50079–80%
Premium executive (full imaging + cardiac + GI)$6,000–$10,000$1,200–$2,50075–80%

Prices move with package depth and hospital. We re-verify each quote before you commit, and the quote you receive names every scan and lab line by line.

Above the top band? For screening that adds whole-body MRI, low-dose lung CT and a multi-gene risk panel, see the premium longevity screening breakdown — itemised from the hospital's own package sheet and benchmarked against published Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur prices.

2. What is included — and what is billed separately

Typically included in an all-in package:

  • Labs: full blood panel, biochemistry, lipid profile, liver and kidney function, blood counts, urinalysis and stool analysis, and tumor markers (comprehensive tier and above).
  • Imaging: abdominal and thyroid ultrasound, carotid ultrasound, chest imaging, and — at the comprehensive and premium tiers — MRI and/or low-dose CT.
  • Cardiac: resting ECG, echocardiogram, stress testing and coronary calcium scoring at the premium tier.
  • GI assessment: gastroscopy and/or colonoscopy under sedation where the premium package specifies it.
  • Other screening: dental and ophthalmology screening at the premium tier.
  • Physician review: your results are reviewed by a physician and delivered as a bilingual written report in English, with imaging on disk/USB.
  • Coordination: appointment booking, English-speaking coordination, and the visa support documentation your package requires.

Typically billed separately: any treatment, procedure, medication or specialist consultation that follows a finding (quoted separately and escrow-protected); flights, hotels and airport transfers; visa fees; and optional add-on scans you request beyond the package sheet. Your quote separates these lines up front so there are no surprise bills after screening.

3. Who an executive checkup is for — and who it is not for

It is a good fit if you are:

  • An executive or frequent traveller who wants a comprehensive annual screening snapshot in a single trip.
  • Someone whose home system quotes $2,000–$10,000 or puts you on a long scheduling wait for full-body imaging and labs.
  • Someone who wants imaging, labs and a physician review consolidated into one report you can hand to your own doctor.
  • Comfortable travelling to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or the Hainan Boao Lecheng Pilot Zone for a 4–7 day trip.

It is not for you if:

  • You are looking for a diagnosis, a second opinion on a known condition, or treatment. A screening package is not a diagnosis and does not rule out disease — a known condition needs a treatment pathway, which we quote separately.
  • You expect screening to detect, prevent or rule out cancer or any specific disease. It does not, and anyone claiming otherwise is not acting as a medical provider.
  • You need an urgent or emergency assessment. This is elective screening, not emergency care.
  • You want a replacement for your home doctor. Screening complements primary care; it does not replace it.

4. Top hospitals for international patients

We work with China's JCI-accredited teaching hospitals and their dedicated international departments in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and the Hainan Boao Lecheng Pilot Zone — China's designated medical-tourism free trade zone, where approved international medical services and visa-free entry policies make a screening trip simple. All of them run dedicated international patient services with English-speaking coordinators.

  • Same-week appointments for most executive checkup packages.
  • Results in 48 hours for the standard panel, with the physician review and written English report delivered before you fly home.
  • One coordinator from first enquiry to the final handoff report for your home doctor — you see doctors, not waiting rooms.

Facility availability varies between hospitals and changes over time. We confirm the current status and the hospital's own published pricing for your chosen package before you commit to anything — see our executive checkup cost page for the current band.

5. Why escrow is simpler here — and still applies

A checkup is a smaller commitment than surgery, but the classic medical-travel failure mode is the same: you pay a coordinator or clinic up front and then the schedule slips, the package shrinks, or the contact goes quiet. Most medical-travel agencies ask for 100% upfront with no recourse.

Verified China Care structures every payment through an independent third-party escrow agent, including screening bookings. You fund escrow, funds are released to the hospital in stages tied to documented delivery milestones, and if the package is not delivered as agreed, funds stay frozen while the dispute is resolved. You never pay an agent's 30–60% markup, and you never pay for services not rendered. Because a checkup is simpler and shorter than surgery, there are fewer milestones and less to argue about — the same protection, less friction.

6. How it works

  1. Send your records and requirements — a physician reviews your information, and you get a line-item, all-in quote with the package sheet within 48 hours.
  2. Book your appointment — most packages are scheduled inside 48 hours, arranged around your travel dates, with the visa support documentation handled for you.
  3. Attend the screen — the full panel is completed in 1–2 days on site, or 2–3 days for premium packages with endoscopy.
  4. Receive your English results — a bilingual written report, imaging on disk/USB, and a physician review, delivered before you fly home.
  5. Optional specialist referral — if a finding warrants follow-up, we can coordinate an optional specialist referral or a treatment plan. Treatment is quoted separately and escrow-protected; any dispute keeps funds frozen.

7. FAQ — executive health checkup in China

Do I need a visa for an executive health checkup in China?
It depends on your nationality and route. Many international visitors use a standard tourist visa or visa-free transit for a short screening trip, and the Hainan Boao Lecheng Pilot Zone operates under its own visa-free entry policy for approved medical services. Check our China medical visa guide for your specific case — your coordinator issues the invitation and support documentation your package requires.

How long is the trip for a full-body executive checkup?
Most comprehensive programs complete in 1–2 days on site; premium packages that add endoscopy may take 2–3 days. Including travel, most visitors plan a 4–7 day trip, with results and the physician review delivered before you fly home.

Are the results and reports in English?
Yes. You receive a bilingual written report in English plus imaging on disk/USB and lab results, structured so you can hand it directly to your home doctor. The physician review is conducted with English-speaking coordination.

Can a checkup lead to treatment coordination?
Yes. If a finding warrants follow-up, your report is reviewed by a physician and we can coordinate an optional specialist referral or a treatment plan. Any treatment is quoted separately and escrow-protected. A screening package does not include treatment.

Is an executive checkup a substitute for my home doctor?
No. An executive checkup is a screening snapshot, not a diagnosis and not a substitute for your own physician or routine primary care. It does not rule out disease. Results are reviewed by a physician, and you should continue regular care with your home doctor.

Can I get copies of my imaging?
Yes — you receive all imaging on disk/USB, lab results, and a bilingual written summary for your home physician.

Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, 2–4 weeks is typical for premium packages, though same-week slots are often available. Your coordinator manages the schedule around your travel dates.
